This session will explore methods of maintaining control of your character animation and the objects they interact with using standard animation controllers and constraints to navigate your character though some normally difficult situations. We will be looking at scenarios such as picking up and putting down an object, jumping from one moving platform to another, and even having your character pick up and put on armor pieces. We will also cover a technique for sticking objects to an uneven dynamic surface. We will use animation layers to help with iteration and a few other controller tricks to get the job done fast while still yielding a high quality animation that can survive revisions in a production environment. This session is designed for anyone with a base level of character and object animation in the film, game, or commercial industry. No scripting or advanced rigging knowledge is required. You will learn how to problem solve your way though animations by taking the basics and combining them into a system that can handle more advanced situations.
